The new Museum of Transport was originally planned for the site of the former Northern Vehicle Repair facility in Kőbánya. The goal was to preserve the industrial heritage while creating a modern, world-class museum. Although the investment is ultimately being realized at a different location, the digital processes and experience gained during the project represent a significant milestone in the domestic construction industry.
Our company provided both General BIM management and architectural BIM management from the permit design phase through to the final construction documentation. We were responsible for overall digital coordination: aligning discipline-specific models, leading architectural modeling, and ensuring unified data management and quality control. Using Catenda HUB and Solibri, we identified and resolved thousands of design clashes.
A unique aspect of the project was that the concept was developed by a world-renowned international architecture firm (Diller Scofidio + Renfro), while local firms were responsible for the detailed design. We served as the bridge between these two worlds, ensuring that the international concept could be realized at a detailed technical level while complying with Hungarian regulatory requirements.
